An independent non-profit organisation, Asia Art Archive (AAA) was co-founded by Claire Hsu and Johnson Chang in response to the urgent need to document and make accessible the multiple recent histories of art in the region. AAA now hosts one of the most comprehensive and publicly accessible collections of research materials in the field. A catalyst for new ideas about contemporary art in Asia, AAA is dedicated to the collection, creation and sharing of knowledge through its educational, residency and research grant programmes. Over forty-nine research collections, including the Ha Bik Chuen Archive, Manila Artist-run Spaces Archive and Ellen Pau Archive are accessible free at its Sheung Wanlibrary and searchable online.
