Hong Kong Palace Museum
Yau Tsim Mong
Promoting an appreciation of Chinese art and culture and advancing dialogue among world civilisations, with a global vision from a Hong Kong perspective, the museum features more than 1,000 priceless treasures on loan from the Palace Museum in Beijing, plus the finest exhibits from other leading cultural institutions around the world. The work of Rocco Design Architects, the building is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Architecture and aesthetics, with a Forbidden City inspired vertical central axis. Its golden exterior panels create the effect of glazed tiles and its undulating bronze ceiling draws in light from above.
