In 2008, Swiss designer Julie Progin and American artist Jesse Mc Lin co-founded Latitude 22N. The porcelain and paper goods brand captures the artistic voyage of their lives in Hong Kong and study trips to Jingdezhen, the centre of China’s porcelain industry, where they worked with local artisans to create bespoke products and artworks. One example is Fragment(s), a series of vessels that brings new life to the discarded ceramic production moulds they collected in the city. Enter their lofty studio in Chai Wan and you will first encounter a gallery space dedicated to their limited-edition artworks, created under the name Julie & Jesse; then, beyond sliding doors, a space for their elegant and Hong Kong inspired Latitude 22N products.
