Lee Tung Avenue
Wan Chai and Eastern District
Formerly known as ‘Wedding Card Street’, where locals once shopped for traditional banquet invitations, this area has been reincarnated as a public open space with a dazzling array of pavement cafés, laid-back restaurants and premium shops. Inspired by the streetscape of 1950s Wan Chai and designed by Ronald Lu & Partners, the tree-lined, stone-paved pedestrian walkway is perfect for strolling and exploring against a European-style backdrop. It’s also home to festive installations and artsy collaborations, with a roll-call of talent that includes the likes of artist Luke Jerram and composer Yusuke Hatano. Occasionally, constellations of Chinese lanterns appear to brighten moods and social media feeds.
