Sham Shui Po
Opening the dark wooden doors of this Japanese-style shop instantly ushers you into a nostalgic world of film posters, pamphlets and catalogues – the passion project of a Hong Kong- Japanese husband-wife partnership. The duo collects unique, direct mailings distributed to promote movies – a longrunning practice characteristic of Japan – and sell their visual aesthetics to Hong Kong cinema lovers. Greeted by a line-up of Wong Kar-wai movie posters, visitors are welcome to chat with fellow aficionados on the stepped cushion area, browse the movie catalogues and pamphlets and other movie-themed, illustrative products, or go upstairs to peruse a selection of consignment homeware goods and accessories.
