Visiting the Palmer & Turner-designed Pedder Building, completed in 1924, has always been an extraordinary experience, for the influential art galleries within, as well as its Grade II historical Architecture. The recent launch of Pedder Arcade on the fifth floor upped the game, with a new retail concept that puts a contemporary twist on the European shopping arcade tradition. Designed and curated by dapper bespoke tailoring expert The Armoury and Katherine Wong Design, this urban shopping sanctuary is set amid high ceilings and graceful, arched windows and features The Armoury, naturally, as well as Lok Man Rare Books, Kaneko Glasses, The Whisky Library (fine spirits), The Armoury Study (lounge) and Phillips Perpetual (a new concept by the international auction house for instant purchases of collectors’ timepieces). There is also a café called JK on the Fifth, in homage to Jimmy’s Kitchen
