Where once was a vacant plot of government land is now Quarryside, a multipurpose venue for artistic and cultural activities. Covering more than 3,700m², it boasts the impressive Dockyard Theatre, Community Kitchen, Workshop Space, Event Lawn, and Function Rooms. It also serves as a petfriendly leisure zone and a delightful destination for coffee-tasting. Quarryside collaborates with diverse organisations and stakeholders to foster a creative, healthy, and sustainable community through a wide range of events. Its Architecture is inspired by the neighbourhood’s industrial past, with the rear of the pavilion resembling the tiled roof of the sugar refinery nearby, and a flattened roof at the centre paying homage to the pier.
