Hong Kong-born Alex Kot and Joe Jun Liao both suffered from sleep disorders. Believing a good night’s sleep was essential for ‘everyone, everyday, everywhere’, the childhood friends created SLEEEP, the first capsule hotel in one of the busiest cities in the world. The minimalist and futuristic, pine wood-lined space is all about blissful unconsciousness, thanks to patented Red Dot Award-winning SLPer® one-person sleep capsules, featuring a choice of bespoke mattresses and pillows, with airflow, light and sound engineered to respond to individual needs. Offering flexible booking (45 minutes up) and keyless access, SLEEEP’s outposts are all Centrally located, so urban dwellers can easily crash for a few hours’ recharge. The sleep mission has even taken flight to Fujinomiya, Japan – where capsule hotels first appeared, in the 1970s.
