A stylish sanctuary rooted in one of Hong Kong’s best foodie neighbourhoods, TUVE is hailed by The Telegraph as one of the coolest small hotels in the city. Inspired by an ethereal photo series of Sweden’s Lake Tuve by Kim Høltermand, the 66-room boutique property is a study in minimalism as interpreted by Hong Kong studio Design Systems. The understated entrance, interplay of light and shadow and layering of raw concrete, oxidised metal, veined marble and timber panels add sophistication to a meticulously curated, austere vibe and pared-back aesthetics. Rooms are compact but well-equipped: fold open a big ‘magic’ wooden box in a corner to find in it a chair, tiny desk and wellstocked pantry.
