The Xiqu Centre is a world-class performing arts venue in Hong Kong dedicated to promoting and developing the heritage art of traditional Cantonese opera and regional forms of Xiqu. It introduces performances from Hong Kong, Mainland China and around the world and presents specially curated introductory performances, experimental contemporary creations, film screenings, musical performances, educational activities and more. Designed by Revery Architecture and Ronald Lu & Partners, the Xiqu Centre’s striking form, reminiscent of a lantern shimmering behind a beaded stage curtain, blends elements of traditional and contemporary Chinese Architecture. The Xiqu Centre was named one of “The ‘World’s 100 Greatest Places” by TIME magazine in 2019.
