‘Don’t call it a hotel. Eaton HK is part of a new counterculture movement intersecting social impact …’ It’s an uncommon self-description for a hotel, but Eaton HK is committed to living up to its word. Drawing inspiration from Wong Kar-wai’s 1990s Hong Kong films, the 1970s building was overhauled by New York studio AvroKO, with brilliant use of tiles, millwork and metalwork as a cultural nod to old Hong Kong. Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Jordan, Eaton HK is a dynamic and inclusive cultural hub that boasts robust arts and music programmes, workshops, exhibitions, performances and screenings on topics such as queer culture and Bollywood. It also features a cinema-auditorium, radio station, members’ workspace, music venue, cocktail bar and terrace, buffet restaurant, food hall, art gallery, event space, a Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant, curated retail shop and rooftop pool.
